Rental Terms and Conditions

For over 20 years, Text Bucks has been THE place for students to go for saving BIG BUCKS on their textbook purchases. And now, to help today's students save even more, we're offering our new rental program option on over 50 select Missouri State University and Ozarks Technical Community College textbook titles.

Taking advantage of this savings option is easy. Just review our list of rental titles and call us at 417-866-TEXT to make a reservation for the textbooks you need. Then visit our MSU or OTC location to complete a quick-and-easy rental agreement. Before you come in, make sure you read our return/refund policies and terms and conditions below. And, while you're here, don't forget to pick-up your other textbook needs.

Return/Refund Policies

• Your original cash register receipt is required for all returns, exchanges or refunds.
• Textbooks rented for regular fall or spring semester* may be returned within two (2) weeks of the first day of classes. An official course drop slip may be required.
• Intersession returns must be within one (1) day of the first day of class. Summer session returns must be within one (1) week of the first day of class.
• Refunds by credit card are subject to a 5% processing fee.
• New textbooks must be returned in NEW condition - meaning exactly as originally rented.

Terms and Conditions

1. You must be at least 18 years of age, a permanent legal U.S. resident, and financially responsible - at least financially responsible for fulfilling the terms of this agreement.
2. You authorize Text Bucks, Inc. to apply all rental charges and fees specified in this agreement to the credit/debit card which I have provided above.
3. The rented materials under this agreement are not yours. They are the sole property of Text Bucks, Inc.
4. You have to return the rented materials to Text Bucks, Inc. no later than the close of business on the "rental return date."
   
   * The "rental return date" is the first MONDAY after the schedule final exams period for the semester or intersession.
5. The rented materials not returned by the end-of-business on the rental return date shall be charged the "non-return fee" specified below. And, the rented materials become your property at that time.
   
   * The "non-return fee" charged for rented materials not returned by the rental return date is calculated as the selling price of each textbook, less the rental price, plus an additional $6.66 processing fee.
6. You are financially responsible for the loss of the rented materials by any cause, including theft and damage.
7. You must return all rented materials in "saleable condition" which will be determined by Text Bucks, Inc.
   
   * "Saleable Condition" means a book that has been read but is in good condition, with no missing pages. It has very minimal damage to the cover including scuff marks, but no holes or tears. Its binding is strong and firm. The majority of its pages are undamaged with minimal creasing or tearing, minimal pencil underlining of text, no highlighting of text, and no writing in margins.
8. You must return with the rented materials all supplemental resources that came with them, including CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, study guides, etc.
9. You will not remove any rental stickers from the rented materials.
10. You will be charged the non-return fee on any rented materials not returned in "saleable condition." The rented materials become your property at that time.
11. All fees specified in this agreement will be charged to the credit/debit card that you provided in your rental agreement. If your credit/debit card is canceled or the credit limit is exceeded, Text Bucks, Inc. may charge a $35 collection fee, as well as any attorney fees and/or collection fees incurred.
12. The return/refund policies specified above apply to all rented materials.
